Nestled in Tapanti, less than a mile away from the Tapanti National Park's entrance, it is a place that has easy access because of its proximity to the capital (about an hour and a half). Its flora and fauna, its rivers and quietness make it one of the most attractive and visited places in the area.

 

Getting to Kirí is very easy; the road is passable any time of the year so you will not have any problem to get there in your car (any model you have) ; just get to Cartago, take the route to Paraíso, then get to Orosi, after that you'll get to the Macho River and then take the route to Tapantí . If you're not coming with your car, you can take the bus to Orosi, you can find the bus stop half a block to the North of the San Francisco Convent's Church in Cartago and when you get to Orosi, take a taxi to Kirí.

 

 

National Park Tapantí Cerro La Muerte´s Massif

 

It is located on the northern slopes of the Cordillera de Talamanca, in the Orosi's district, Paraiso Cartago. Tapantí has an average rainfall of 6,500 mm. Its altitude ranges from 1,200 to 2,560 meters above sea level, it has a 58,500 hectares area, where live around 45 species of mammals (some endangered) 260 bird species and 28 amphibians species, as well as a variety of insects, many of whom have not been described by science.
